Mountain Search

This is a new game developed by JuicyGrape Apps. It is an Android version of our VR game Marooned a first person adventure where your have to escape an island your marooned on.

The game starts with you locked inside a log cabin on the island you must find a way to escape the cabin first then you can literally travel anywhere in the game to search for a way off the island.

There are drawings on parchments left by a previously occupant who was trapped, If you can work out their meaning they will aid you in your adventure.

Climb the mountains, abseil down cliffs, walk through the valleys and forests, swim in the oceans and lakes, enter sub terraranan cave systems or walk on the beaches,  find clues and collect items as well as learn skills you will need to escape.

There are clues on how to escape strewn about the island, these where left behind by the last poor souls trapped on the island, over time they kept a journal as they worked on an escape plan, sadly they never managed to see it through but maybe you can finish what the could not.  Their journal has long since deteriorated only a few pages remain now, if you find any of these study them carefully, some parchments will be need to be deciphered to understand them, they will hold clues to do this so question every little detail from the number of items depicted, to the direction of small things like footprints and arrows, they all may hold clues to deciphering the parchment.

Find hidden treasure on your journey or buy it from the shop to help boost your moral and this contributes to your healing from minor falls and injuries you gain along the way.  It is rumoured two treasure chests exist that contain one thousand gold coins in total but this may just be a rumour.

One more thing, If you can reach a cabin the game will automatically save your progress so each time the game starts your adventure continues from that point, pressing restart button at the beginning will reset the game. 

The rest you'll have to discover and workout for yourself.

The island may seem tranquil some might say it's a paradise but be under no illusion this island is a treacherous place.

Keep alert when climbing the narrow mountain paths where one miss step will be your last!  The forests are dark and dangerous places these should never be entered unless you have quick reflexes and if you dare to swim in the deep lakes stay calm because if you panic its game over

This adventure is not for the faint of heart, it will take great skill and will test your survival instincts to their core.

Before you go to the island only an elite few will ever manage to escape it, if your are one of them you will have earned the right to be on the escapees wall of fame, which is displayed at the top of this page and is hidden somewhere within the game.

To be added to the wall of fame you must to send us an email with the title ESCAPED and in the email text leave the player name you wish to be on the parchment and tell us what happens when you escape the island including what's on the last parchment.

On a technical note one issue with Mountain Search that may arise is that you find players can walk through the cabin walls this will occur if the device renders the graphics slower than expected, it will not effect the game visually but If this happens in the cabin you awake in (before you find out how to escape from it) the player will die as there is only one way to escape this cabin, so be carful.

Game play:

The cover and then player control parchments are the first things to appear when the game is loaded.

Tap on each parchment to continue.

Game controls:

Left Joystick:  Press and hold then move up or down to travel forward and backwards, move left or right to turn.

Right Joystick:  Press and hold then move up or down to look up and down.  Move to left to drop item your holding, dive underwater, climb up ropes.  Move right to use/throw item your holding, swim to surface, abseil down ropes.

The further from the centre you move the joystick the more strength you will use.

Grab: Open a door, pickup an item to examine it or store/retrieve items in your backpack.

Jump:  Jump over holes/objects and can help you climb steep hills.

The Island Shop

To enter the shop just hold any object and press on it's small icon which appears on the bottom left of screen.

The shop will come in handy if you accidently lose an item along your adventure such as dropping or throwing it off a cliff into the ocean below, if you cannot find a replacement in game you can purchase it from the island shop, you can also purchase special objects and player skills from the shop. 

In the island shop (pictured above) you will see numerous items you can buy, if an item is unavailable it will be crossed out, otherwise you can buy them by simply pressing on them.

Some items you'll pay with gold coins that you get when you find treasure chests in the game or purchase it from the shop, these items have an image of gold coins next to them with the amount of gold coins needed to buy the item.  When pressed they will appear instantly in your backpack.

Other items such as player skills and special items can be purchased using actual currency these items have a green cash image next to them with the amount the item costs.  Please note the prices may vary slightly with different currencies and app stores.

Once you press these items you will be asked to go through the purchasing process of the app store that you used to install the game. (Samsung Galaxy Store does not have this shop at the moment).

Purchasing maps that are not in the game will appear in your backpack so be careful not to loose them along your adventure, skills and other special items you use when they are needed for example the "Shield" item (shown under the treasure chest in above image) will not show in your backpack, you'll just notice when playing the game you don't get injured by spears thrown at you or when you fall from a great hight.

Special one-off items

These items cannot be found in game they are special items that can only be purchased from the the island shop like secret maps or specialized skills.

If an item is crossed out it means that item cannot be purchased, this happens if you don't have enough gold coins to purchase the item or if the shop has sold out of that particular item and if the item is a one off item and you already own it.
